Instance-based Data Integration
Project leader and researcher on integrating and interlinking data about entities on different databases.
The project is developed ith the Trentino tax agency, Trentino is an independent region in the north of Italy Our solution will enable data integration, automatic linkage and navigation of tax payer records from different sources across the municipalities.
Our lightweight integration approach is based on the OKKAM ENS infrastructure and it has two main phases:
- One, the database schemas are mapped into a KB which covers the application domain. Each entity in the database sources is represented in the KB using an unique Identifier which refers to all of the information about the entity described in the different databases.
- And a second phase where the integrated information is consumed by a user, for instance a tax agent with the required authority. They can query the KB by the existing local identifiers or the global OKKAM unique identifier . The query result is a merged of the information retrieved on different data sources which are then navigable as a network of connected entities.
